Via multiple media outlets, the Yankees have signed Richie Sexson.
He’s hitting .218/.315/.381. That’s nothing compared to his .205/.295/.399 last year.
Only two pros I see about this, he is hitting .344 against left handed pitching this year and he is only costing the Yankees $390,000.
The biggest con I see? He plays 1B and we already have multiple choices at DH. The G-Man is on a roll (thanks to his ‘stache) and we could DH Christian or Gardner.
Let’s hope a change of venue and uniform will help Sexson get some good numbers.

Question – is it Sexton or Sexson? His jersey in the pic looks like it spells the latter.
And I don’t care how much it pulls him out of any slump — I am avidly anti-stache. Sowwy.

Sexton or Sexson… Either one, I LOVE THE NAME!

Cute input ladies. Chris, this is the dumbest move Cashman as made in quite some time. Sexson is worthless to us. Why get him?
His fielding skills? Betemit and Giambi are decent fielders at first. Giambi can scoop almost anything out of the dirt.
His batting skills? I don’t even need to get into that…
This is a waste of $390,000. Even if it is prorated.

Trevor — the Yankees need someone to hit against left handed pitching. I am not opposed to getting him. He’s chump change to the Yankees.
