…the Yankees suck are playing poorly.

Now that the entire world knows, courtesy of last week’s Sports Illustrated cover.

I already mentioned this cover in my posting this morning.

Coupled with such a torrential spring where we’ve seen flashes of brilliance and flashes of dismay, what more can the Yankee blogosphere complain about?

After LaTroy Hawkins threw away the game (with help from Derek Jeter) last night, the Yankees fell to the Baltimore Orioles again.

We see here that the Yankee bloggers are talking about this again and again.

Exhibit A: Vince Mercandetti. Here Vince vomits up yesterday’s game and offers whatever leftovers or things left on the bench that should be removed or fixed.

Exhibit B: Ben K. Ben explains that this whole disaster could have been avoided with Joba or even Brian Bruney in place of Hawkins.

Exhibit C: Greg Cohen. Cohen dissects what went wrong in the game and why he thinks Hawkins is a bum.

Exhibit D: Greg Cohen again. Greg debates the merits of having Ross Ohlendorf and Hawkins. Which one do the Yankees need the most, and if it’s a choice between either?

The list goes on and on. The bloggers can keep complaining about what’s going on and play keyboard manager and yell at the TV or smash their laptops. The fact is, the Yankees are not gelling and they aren’t playing smart baseball.
